Overview
Renderings of the tables or blocks in a SunDAT model can be changed individually or selecting more than one table or block. You can also change the preference of how tables or blocks are rendered during the PV layout run. You can learn more below on how to change renderings before and after PV Layout runs.

There are multiple options of how tables or blocks can be rendered. Below are the options that are available and reasons of why to choose them.
Rendering | Description | Example |
3D | Shows the table with individual modules and the tilt of the table. Also, the modules will appear with the surfaces showing solar module material. When exporting to CAD, the outlines of the modules will appear. Setting to this rendering can affect performance in PV layout run post layout run manipulation, especially on larger sites. Best use for rooftop projects or for perspective views of the site. Not available for Tracker tables or blocks | ![]() |
2D | Shows the table with the individual modules and the tilt of the table. Modules will appears as blank surfaces When exporting to CAD, the outlines of the modules will appear and the as well as the tilt. Setting to this rendering can affect performance in PV layout run post layout run manipulation, especially on larger sites | ![]() |
2D outline | Blocks only Tables within the blocks will appear as single faces with no modules shown. Tables will be flat, showing no tilt. When exporting to CAD, the tables will appear as outlines. Ideal for larger projects that do not need to show the modules. | ![]() |
Outline | Tables and blocks will be flat and show as a single face. Individual modules will not appear. If used for blocks, it will show a single face to represent the tables within the block (see the example image). When exporting to CAD, tables or blocks will appear as outlines This rendering has the least effect on performance of the SunDAT model and recommended for large utility scale projects. | ![]() ![]() |
